Over 100 attend 9th Annual Investors Conference

and Prime Minister’s Roundtable in UB, September 17-19

 

A record number of more than 100 Members and friends attended our Investors Conference in Ulaanbaatar, September 17-19, coming from Thailand, Japan and Australia as well as the US, Canada , and Mongolia. Minister Ken Lewis of the Canadian Embassy-Beijing delivers the Keynote Address at the Investors Conference.

 

Andrew Cuthbertson of Rio Tinto was elected to the NAMBC Board of Directors during the Investors Conference. He is also chairman of the Mining and Minerals Development Foundation (MMDF) in Mongolia. Mr. Cuthbertson spoke on September 18.

Japanese Ambassador to Mongolia Yasuyoshi Ichihashi delivered an address on September 19 to open the International Panel. 

 

Ambassador Peter Y. Sato, Advisor to Tokyo Electric Power Company and former Japanese Ambassador to China, addressed the conference on the dynamism and opportunities of North Asia regional cooperation.

 

 

NAMBC Vice Chairman Jim Wagenlander (left), Wagenlander & Heisterkamp law firm, was moderator of the Politics and Government Panel on September 19; other panelists included Mr. P. Tsagaan, former Minister of Finance and of Education, Culture & Science; and Mr. L. Sumati, President of Sant Maral, Mongolia's first and leading public opinion survey research firm.

 

 

NAMBC Vice Chairman Pete Morrow (left), CEO of the Khan Bank, was moderator of the panel discussion on the tax law on September 18. Panelists included Dan Mahoney, Lynch & Mahoney law firm; D. Hulan, Deputy Director General, Tavan Bogd Group; and L. Zorig, Director General, General Department of National Taxation, Mongolia.
