Registration is free for USDOC US-Mongolia Business Forum on  June 9 in Washington, DC; Foreign Minister will speak

The US Commerce Department’s 4th US-Mongolia Business Forum is on Tuesday, June 9, in Washington, DC, and focuses on the energy sector. Registration is free but you must send in a registration form in advance. A form can be downloaded below.

Expected speakers include Gary Locke, US Secretary of Commerce; S. Batbold, Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Kh. Bekhbat, Mongolian Ambassador to the US; and other senior US and Mongolian government officials, as well as leaders of the US and Mongolian business communities. 

The focus of this year's forum will be the Mongolian energy sector, highlighting coal mining and coal power production, renewable energy, oil extraction and processing, and nuclear energy.  Many Mongolian energy companies are expected to attend and early indications are that the conference will attract significant news media attention in Mongolia.

The conference is sponsored by the US Department of Commerce, in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade; the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy; the Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade Agency; and the Mongolian Embassy in Washington. 

The conference includes a luncheon co-sponsored by the NAMBC, Peabody Energy and  LM Gochioco & Associates. On the evening of June 9, Mongolian Ambassador Bekhbat will host a reception for conference participants.
