Keith Marshall of Rio Tinto is elected to NAMBC Board of Directors

Keith Marshall of Rio Tinto was elected a member of the NAMBC Board of Directors on April 21 at our 19th Annual General Meeting in Washington , DC .  Keith was appointed Managing Director of Ivanhoe Mines Mongolia in February 2008 with responsibility for the Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold project. He plays a leading role in the Investment Agreement negotiations with the Mongolian Government and the State Great Hural. Keith brings to our Board 30 years experience in the international mining industry in every continent on earth.

Prior to taking up his Oyu Tolgoi assignment, Keith worked for four years as Managing Director of the Palabora Mining Company in South Africa. During that time, Keith successfully took the underground block cave development from an advanced project stage to a stable operation that consistently achieves production rates in excess of the original design capacity. He has had a long and successful career with Rio Tinto focused on operational management, including at Greens Creek in Alaska, and Minera Aguilar SA in Argentina. He holds a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from the Royal School of Mines in the United Kingdom and postgraduate financial qualifications from INSEAD, France.
