Scores of delegates have already registered for our Investors Conference, September 14-16, from the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Thailand and China, as well as an unexpectedly large number of Mongolian business leaders. Space is limited; registrations are being accepted on a first come, first served, space available basis. One of the popular annual highlights of the conference is a private Roundtable discussion with Prime Minister Sanj Bayar and a reception at Ikh Tenger, his official residence. This yearly roundtable has been part of the conference agenda since 1998. Other anticipated speakers include Mining and Energy Minister D. Zorigt and Do.Ganbold, President of the Mongolian National Mining Association (MNMA).

Other program components include panels on "Mining, Oil and Natural Resource Development,"  “Innovations: new directions, new visions in the Mongolian private sector and NGO community,” “Transparency and Competitiveness,” and "Politics, Parties and Parliament" including presentation of the latest Mongolian public opinion survey data.

The primary venue is the Kempinski Khan Palace Hotel, which may still have available some rooms at the NAMBC discounted group rate.

Canadian Ambassador Anna Biolik will deliver the Keynote Address on September 15.  She has been Canada's first resident ambassador in Mongolia since September 2008 and is regarded as one of  North America's foremost authorities on Central Asian and CIS  affairs. She previous served as ambassador of Canada to Kazakhstan, with concurrent accreditation to the Kyrgyz Republic and to the Republic of Tajikistan. Ambassador Biolik also served earlier as consul general in St. Petersburg.

On September 16, US Ambassador Mark Minton will deliver his farewell to Mongolia on the eve of his departure from the country following a three-year assignment. His successor, Jonathan Addleton, will arrive in mid-October. Ambassador Minton is one of the State Department’s most experienced North Asia experts. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Seoul and served several tours in Japan. He speaks Korean and Japanese. NAMBC Chairman Ed Story said, "Mark arrived in 2006 during our 9th Annual Investors Conference and we are deeply honored that he decided to say his farewell to Mongolia at our 12th.”
