Mongolia decides to waive visas for Canadian visitors

One of the notes exchanged and signed during Governor General David Johnston’s visit to UB, October 24-26, was the decision by the Mongolian Government to permit visa-free entry for Canadian passport holders for stays up to 30 days. Both President Elbegdorj and Governor General Johnston were present at Government House  to witness the formal exchange of notes on the visa waiver, signed by Foreign Minister Lu. Bold and Canadian Ambassador Greg Goldhawk. This waiver agreement follows up the June 7 announcement by Ambassador Goldhawk that the Canadian Government would issue up to a 10 year visa for a civilian with an ordinary Mongolian passport and a four year multiple entry visa for officials with diplomatic passports.
