Possible 2nd USDOC-Certified US Trade Mission to Mongolia

The NAMBC is currently in discussion with the US Department of Commerce about another USDOC-Certified NAMBC US Trade Mission to Mongolia in September 2010, in conjunction with our 13th Annual Investors Conference in Ulaanbaatar, September 28-30. Pending DOC concurrence, our plan is to recruit US companies interested in doing business in Mongolia in several different sectors, including the clean coal and clean energy technologies sectors.

The specifics of the trade mission are yet to be determined. However, as with our First USDOC-Certified Trade Mission in 2008, we anticipate the Second Trade Mission would have a full program of meetings with relevant Mongolian Government officials and leading Mongolian business leaders, in addition to participation in the Investors Conference and a possible field trip. If we can recruit a sufficient number of executives from clean energy companies, we will also organize a public briefing on these technologies. Our First USDOC-Certified Trade Mission was headed by Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Michelle O'Neill.

Notionally, the Trade Mission would be approximately eight days, roughly during the period September 21-October 4. US trade mission participants would make and pay for their own transportation, travel arrangements and meals. Discounted hotel rooms will be made available through the NAMBC. Trade mission delegates would also pay a fee of $790 which includes the Investors Conference.

Space will be limited. We seek US firms interested in export of goods and services to Mongolia and also those interested in direct investment. If interested in applying to participate, please send ASAP a brief description of your company or organization and your proposed trade mission delegate to [email protected] North America-based executives of US companies already in Mongolia are eligible, especially those who have never visited Mongolia or who are from different divisions of the company. The nationality or citizenship of mission delegates is not significant as long as they are employees of US companies.
