US Embassy Issues 2012 Investment Climate Statement;
Ambassador Campbell presents credentials to President Elbegdorj

The US Embassy has released its “2012 Investment Climate Statement,” a candid tour d’horizon of key issues of concern to foreign investors in Mongolia. Every US Embassy around the world is required to issue this annual report. In preparing the report, the US Embassy not only examined all documentary sources but also consulted in depth with a broad range of Mongolian and foreign business leaders, Mongolian government officials and political leaders, international organizations as well as with a cross-section of other embassies in UB, including the Canadian Embassy.

On  August 24, following release of the report, new US Ambassador to Mongolia Piper Anne Wind Campbell presented her credentials to H.E. Ts. Elbegdorj, President of Mongolia. The ceremony began with an honor guard presentation on Sukhbaatar Square in front of Government House. Ambassador Campbell then presented her credentials to the President and also met with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, H.E. Lu. Bold, who had served as Defense Minister during 2008-2012.
