Ambassador Jennifer Galt presents credentials to President Elbegdorj US Ambassador Jennifer Zimdahl Galt presented credentials to President Ts. Elbegdorj at Government House on October 5, thereby officially commencing her duties as US envoy to Mongolia. Only a few days after arriving in Ulaanbaatar in September, she participated in the NAMBC’s 18th Annual Investors Conference. Ambassador Galt is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. She most recently served as Principal Officer of the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou, China. Ms. Galt’s previous postings overseas have included Belgrade, Taipei with the American Institute in Taiwan, Mumbai, Beijing, Shanghai, and the U.S. Mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels. Ms. Galt holds Master’s degrees from the National Defense University and the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), as well as a Bachelor’s degree in political science, history and languages from Colorado College in her home state of Colorado. She is married to the writer Fritz Galt and has two children.
