Full-time university students now eligible for NAMBC membership

The NAMBC Board of Directors voted to create a new category of student membership. Any full-time university student with Mongolian, Canadian or American citizenship enrolled full-time  at any accredited university is eligible to join as Associate Members for US$50 per year. On April 23, the board unanimously approved the proposal made by Virginia Flood, Vice President Canada, Rio Tinto. In seconding the motion, Board Member Dr. Anna Biolik, Canada’s first resident ambassador to Mongolia, noted that the NAMBC had already gained corporate memberships as the result of Mongolian students who had been active in NAMBC events persuading their subsequent employers to join. For many years, the NAMBC has offered subsidized event registration fees to Mongolian students at or alumni of American and Canadian Universities.  When Dr. Biolik was ambassador in Ulaanbaatar, she worked closely with the NAMBC to create the “Canadian Alumni of Mongolia” organization,  which subsequently became a self-governing NGO registered in Mongolia.
